House Calls

We can schedule visits to provide routine health care for your pets in the comfort of their own home. This provides less stress for the pet and less hassle for the owner. House call visits can be very helpful for pets that are difficult to get to the clinic, especially cats. At a home visit, a cat just experiences 10 minutes of uncomfortable time being examined versus getting in a carrier and travelling in the car to be examined in the clinic which is at least 30 minutes. We can provide all of the services we provide in the clinic except for radiographs, ultrasound, and surgery. Any blood work collected at your home will be run in our in-house lab and you will be called after the results are ready.

(If you are unsure if we are able to provide you with a house call, feel free to give us a call to discuss what other options we can provide for you and your pets)

When a veterinarian is coming to your house for a house call we recommend that you isolate your pet in a small room 1-2 hours prior to the appointment to ensure that the pet can be found when the veterinary team arrives. Cats may be placed in a carrier only if they are comfortable going in one. We also recommend mild sedation for our stressed patients. You may call and ask for more information.

Behavior consults done at home are beneficial. We can see the household layout which provides valuable information. It is also easier to recommend environmental changes.
